Leadership TriCounty - September
On September 16th, 2022, 17 leaders from across
the TriCounty Area Region, gathered for the beginning of an incredible journey
together.
Day 1 of Leadership TriCounty kicked off with getting to
know one another. Learning about what each person does, why they were embarking
on the journey of leadership development, and what goals they were looking to
achieve throughout the Leadership TriCounty class.
We explored the foundation of leadership – that leadership
is not about having a particular position or title, but that leadership is
about valuing people and having a positive influence and impact on the people
around you. That happens not only by what we say as leaders, but also through our
actions – the behavior we’re modeling for the people around us whether in our
homes, in our organizations or in our communities.
Each class participant had the opportunity to think about the kind of leader they want to be, to identify leadership values that are important to them and to write a Leadership Statement – the leadership mission from which they can live out their leadership values.
The class also had Mastermind time together. This is when
participants are able to bring forward a challenge or opportunity and have some
group Thinking Partner time. It’s a time when the class has the opportunity to
cross collaborate, share resources, best practices, and create connections with
one another that will last far beyond the 10 months they are in class together.
As we wrapped up the day there was great excitement about the adventure we were embarking on together over the next several months and – the very next day at the team building ropes course at Althouse Arboretum, which you can read about here: https://www.pottsmerc.com/2021/11/12/leadership-class-teams-up-for-fitness-obstacle-course-at-the-althouse-arboretum/.
